The Setup Assistant is BloomLine's guided setup wizard: 13 short steps that take your shop from freshly scanned to fully live and selling. You do not need to finish it in one sitting - every step saves itself, and the step rail shows a check mark on each one you complete.
How the wizard works
- The step rail on the left lists every step, grouped into three tiers: Go live, Sound great & get paid, and Fine-tune. A check mark appears on each completed step.
- Steps self-save. There is no giant final save button to forget - each step stores what you entered as you complete it.
- Next and Previous buttons move you through in order, but you can click any step in the rail to jump around.
The practical rhythm: complete the three Go live steps so Riley can start taking real calls, then finish the rest over the week.
The 13 steps
- Shop basics: shop name, receptionist name, city, ZIP, and your price anchors - the foundation Riley builds every answer on.
- Phones: your existing line, the forwarding setup to your BloomLine number, and the answering mode (for example "Riley first - BloomLine answers every call").
- Call alerts: the owner email, an optional second recipient, a cell number for SMS, the alert frequency (After every call / Once a day digest / Off), quiet hours, and a "Prove the alerts reach you" test that sends a real alert so you know delivery works.
- Hours: when BloomLine picks up - always, or after-hours only.
- Money math: your good/better/best price anchors, sympathy starting price, flat delivery fee, service fee, sales tax rate, and order minimum. These numbers are what Riley quotes on the phone, so give them a careful pass.
- Voice: name your receptionist, pick its voice, and decide whether to add a Spanish voice.
- Knowledge: anything Riley should know that is not on your website - parking notes, seasonal policies, the things you would tell a new hire.
- Payments: connect Stripe so Riley can text customers a payment link mid-call and the money lands in your account.
- Human handoff: transfer targets such as Owner cell, Manager, and Weddings and events, each with a name and number, plus a live transfer test that actually rings the target to prove a human picks up.
- Email identity: set up order confirmations to send as your shop, from your own address.
- SMS legal (A2P): your legal business name, EIN, and registered business address - the registration that lets payment links and alert texts deliver reliably.
- Billing agreement: your billing email, and confirming the plan and card on file.
- Review and publish: a final check of everything, then push it live.
Tips for a smooth run
- Do the money math step with your price list in hand - accurate anchors are the difference between Riley quoting confidently and Riley guessing.
- Actually run the two built-in tests: the call-alert delivery test and the live transfer test. Each takes under a minute and catches the two most common go-live surprises.
- Nothing here is locked in. Every setting the wizard touches can be changed later from the shop config tabs.
